CELEBRATE NEW YEAR with us – always a great night at La Croix Blanche! The dj has been booked, our chef has prepared the menu, wines have been ordered and our decorations will create seasonal magic. Join us for an exquisite dinner and dance ’till late to the tunes of the ’60-’90s.

Contemporary and bistro cuisine combined with classic French dishes are served in the refurbished restaurant. On warm summer days all meals can be served on our 17th century court yard full of flowers or on the village square terrace facing the fountain.

Restaurant ‘Le Plantagenêt’ is part of hotel La Croix Blanche in Fontevraud l’Abbaye and has been listed among some of the best restaurants in the Saumur and Chinon region. Our flowered courtyard terrace has been rated one of the most attractive in the Western Loire.

Many awards have been received for its excellent combination of classic but innovative  cuisine using many local ingredients, unusual herbs and spices, as well as flowers and forgotten vegetables: Logis honoured us with 3 cocottes, Michelin 2018 awarded 2 forks, and we are proud to have obtained the Maitre Restaurateur status. We entered the Gault & Millau restaurant guide in 2016.

Two tasty dining experiences on site: our restaurant suggest our bistro menu for lunch and a fine dining, gourmet experience for dinner. Key words: informal but professional, value for money and fresh ingredients only .

The restaurant’s wine list offers a large selection of excellent Loire Valley wines which has earned us recognition as a Logis Bacchus.

Our chef will spoil you with the best of French cuisine using local fish and poultry, excellent vegetables, herbs and spices as well as black truffles from Touraine and liqueurs and wines from Saumur and Chinon. Local dishes such as La Gouline pie and Crémet d’Anjou can not be missed! Food is imaginative and our commitment to quality is high, offering creative, simple and delicious food.
